Sustainability

SUSTAINABLE FOUNDATIONS

Allied Infrastructure is strongly committed to operating in a sustainable manner. We have a number of ongoing initiatives aligned to the “3 pillars of sustainability”:

Social

  • Ongoing partnership with Wigan Care Leaver’s Hub, delivering volunteering projects, donations and work experience placements.

 

  • Support provided to MAG with numerous Social Value initiatives, such as the re-development of an outdoor area at the Brownley Road temporary accomodation centre for homeless people. 

 

  • Employee Wellbeing programme in place, ensuring 24/7 access to support for all direct personnel.

Economic

  • Recruitment and training of local personnel, the majority of our team live within the Greater Manchester region.

 

  • Long-term engagement and mentoring of Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) via our MAG Frameworks.

 

  • Careers Fairs and work experience placements to help educate young people on careers within our sector.

Environmental

  • ISO14001-accredited Environmental Management System (EMS) in place, with Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) produced for individual projects.

 

  • Carbon baseline completed in 2025, with SMART targets in place to reduce our footprint.

 

  • Transition to Electric Vehicles (EVs) ongoing, with charging points installed at our depot. In addition, we are completing a long-term programme of plant refurbishment, to improve the sustainability and efficiency of our internal plant.
